This section is in the
preliminary design stage, and MoDOT plans to finish these designs
by the end of 2003. This section is not currently funded for right
of way purchasing or construction. The project involves adding
11.5 miles of two-lane highway, making Route 36 four lanes from
Hannibal to Monroe City.

Timeline
Location study was completed
in 1997. Environmental assessment completed in 1998. Preliminary
desing is currently underway and should be complete by December
2003. Right of way plans are scheduled to be complete by the end
of 2004. Final plans are expected to be complete by the end of
2005.
