Sheriff Ben J. Berghager Memorial Highway Dedication Ceremony
After storms and rain the day before, those who gathered for the Sheriff Ben J. Berghager Memorial Highway dedication ceremony believed that Ben had convinced Mother Nature to provide good weather for the gathering along US 61 on Sunday, June 26 at 1 p.m. A crowd of about 60 people showed their support of the dedication, their admiration for the former Sheriff of Ralls County and his family apparent as smiles and tears were shared during the ceremony.
