MoDOT Kansas City headquarters are in the southeast portion of the metropolitan area.

If coming to Kansas City from the east:

Take I-470/Route 291 south from I-70 in Independence; go five miles south on I-470/Route 291 to the Colbern Road exit and turn right on Colbern. The offices are on the north side of Colbern Road.

If coming to Kansas City from the north or west:

Take I-70 east to the I-470/Route 291 interchange in Independence; go five miles south on I-470/Route 291 to the Colbern Road exit and turn right on Colbern. The offices are on the north side of Colbern Road.

If coming to Kansas City from the south:

Take either Route 291 north through Lee's Summit or Route 71; if using Route 291, exit at Colbern Road and turn left (west). The office is about one-half mile to the west, on the north side of Colbern Road. If using Route 71, take I-470 east and exit at the Douglas Street/Colbern road exit. Turn left on Douglas and then right on Colbern to reach the office.
