Why Replace the Bridge?

Built in 1959, the Route HH Bridge carries about 1,020 vehicles a day. It is in poor condition and has faced several emergency closures to address needed repairs. Without replacement, the bridge would increasingly need costly, unplanned repairs and may even have to be closed indefinitely at some point.

Through funding by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, MoDOT is able to accelerate the $1.1 million replacement to 2010. The replacement is the safest, most cost-effective solution for this bridge.
