What is the Construction Timeline for Replacing the bridge?

The bridge project has been awarded to APAC Inc., with a notice to proceed in early August.  Due to the potential for flooding in the area, the contractor has not determined if construction can begin this year.  The new bridge should be completed by the end of 2012. 

What is the impact to drivers?

The new plate girder bridge will be built on the east side of the existing bridge. This means that MO 45 will remain open for the majority of the construction timeline, provided the existing bridge condition does not worsen to the extent that total closure is necessary.

MO 45 may have brief intermittent closures or lane restrictions during construction. At the end of the project the road will be closed for a short period of time to connect the roadway to the new bridge at each end. The final step will be the removal of the old bridge.
