| Cooperative education programs
differ from Internships in their level of commitment and offered
benefits: |
- long-term
- salaried
- progressive work experience
- earns credit hours toward degree

| Two Types of Co-op Programs |
| 1. Alternating Co-op Program:
|
- participants alternate between working full-time for
a semester and attending class full-time for a semester
- must have 27-30 credit hours
- must have a declared major
- 2.5 GPA
- accrues annual leave, sick leave, retirement benefits,
and group health insurance
|
| 2. Consecutive Co-op Program:
|
- participants work 1-3 semesters in a row
- must have 54-60 credit hours
- must have a declared major
- 2.5 GPA
- if the position requires 1,000 hours during the work
program, you may accrue annual leave, sick leave, retirement
benefits, and group health insurance
