Family Friendly
40-hour workweek
Any overtime is either paid or earned compensatory time
Employees are paid twice monthly, checks are direct
deposited
Flextime
Normal work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., but employees
can begin as early as 6:30 a.m. and work until 3:00 p.m.,
or begin at 8:30 a.m. and work until 5:00 p.m.
Lunch - 30 minutes
Some jobs accommodate a different schedule, such as
four 10-hour days, to meet the demands of the job
Annual Leave (Vacation)
If you have worked for state government less than 10
years, you earn 10 hours of annual leave a month (15 days
per year); between 10 and 15 years, 12 hours a month (18
days); over 15 years, 14 hours a month (21 days per year).
You can use annual leave as soon as you have earned
it - you do not have to wait six months
Many employees combine annual leave with 12 paid holidays
Sick Leave
All employees receive 10 hours sick leave per month
Sick leave may be used by employees for their own health
conditions AND for the illness of immediate family members
At retirement, unused sick leave counts towards creditable
service
Retirement
Free retirement plan - employees do not contribute
"80 and Out" plan - meaning if your age (you
have to be at least 50) and years of state employment
equal 80 or more, you can retire with full retirement
benefits
Educational
Reimbursement
Return to school and MoDOT will help - for pre-approved
classes receive 100 percent reimbursement of your tuition
when you receive an A, 75 percent when you receive a B,
50 percent if you receive a C.
Work on your master's, or any different type of degree
- as long as it relates to MoDOT jobs
Professional
Fees and Memberships
Engineers are reimbursed for the renewal of their professional
engineering registration
MoDOT reimburses employees for one-half (up to $100)
of a job-related membership fee
