U.S. Route 63 Draft Environmental Impact Statement

Maps and Displays from the February 2009 Public Hearings

Two open house public hearings were held on February 17 & 19, 2009 to gather comments about the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Route 63 in Osage, Maries, and Phelps Counties. Displays from the hearings detailed the environmental study process, traffic data, historic preservation, economic development data, and the preferred alternative for the study.

Station 5:  Traffic Access Points - While no decisions have been made on how the Preferred Alternative would connect to existing state and county routes, here are some ideas the study team is considering:

Station 8: Representation of Route 63 Widened To Five Lanes — MoDOT considered widening Route 63 through the existing communities at one point during the study. While widening Route 63 through Westphalia is not part of the preferred alternative, Vichy is. These maps illustrate the impact widening would have on these communities.
